NAC is seeking a Payroll Accountant. The Payroll Accountant is responsible for NAC’s office and union construction payroll, payroll reporting and assisting with HR functions.

Responsibilities of the Payroll/Staff Accountant:
- Prepare weekly in-house payroll from electronic timesheet reporting, with attention to detail for proper coding, pay types, reimbursements, per diems, PTO, etc.
- Ensure that payroll records are administered within legal mandates and ensures the payroll data and reporting are in compliance with regulatory agency’s rules and regulations.
- Prepare weekly payroll deposits for taxes and other employee withholding and deductions. Record payroll to the general ledger.
- On-board new employees, gather data and perform employment verifications. Accurately set up new employees in the payroll system.
- Maintain and update a variety of payroll information and records. Maintain all payroll files.
- Prepare, update and track a variety of employee benefit-related information and reports; work closely with third-party benefit agencies.
- Responsible for union earnings records and monthly union reporting.
- Provide payroll information for various payroll audits, work with auditors, resolve discrepancies.
- Acting point of contact for employees regarding payroll and benefit questions, providing courteous, prompt responses.
- Perform various accounting department functions and reporting; support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
Requirements for the Payroll/Staff Accountant:
- Bachelors or Associates degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to understand the overall payroll system and use accounting software.
- Strong computer skills, overall and with Microsoft Office.
- Pays attention to detail and maintains a high level of accuracy.
- Organized, can handle stressful situations and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Can work effectively with a group as well as individually.
